JOSEPH WALSH & RAY CRIBBS are tasked with investigating the crime. But who is telling the truth? The dock workers all seem to have their own stories to tell whilst gangland figures try to pull their strings from the shadows. As pressure mounts from above, will they be able to find the voices that matter? Can Joseph overcome his own self-doubt? Will they catch the killer in a London set against itself, as the new and old world’s collide?

It’s release day for Dead Men Don’t Pay, the first installment in my brand new series set in 60s London.

Very much a departure from The Regulators this, in that it’s not an action thriller with set pieces and all the usual associated chaos, this is an out and out historical crime mystery. I wanted to show that I could change gears when necessary and hopefully this proves it.

I’m genuinely intrigued to see how this goes down with people. Whether it opens me up to new audiences, how well it’s received by my old audience. All of it. Ultimately, I think I’ve written something that’s got a good plot, the characters are engaging, the message is timely and ultimately you enjoy spending time with.
