The Regulators: Black Eye Friday
I love Christmas. It is without a doubt my favourite time of year. There’s something truly magical about it. I genuinely struggle to think of any part of it I dislike. It’s all really exciting to me. Especially the so called naff bits. They’re the things I really enjoy. Having a model Christmas village. Wearing a tacky jumper. Heading to a Christmas market. I’m all in on all of those things, because most of the year we tend to sneer at people having a bit of organised fun, but for one month, everyone let’s their guard down and I think that’s really great.
And I totally appreciate that it’s not for everyone, so apologies to those of you who don’t for whatever reason get into the festive mood. This post is probably not one for you. But I do. And we’ve got the tree up, the Christmas playlists playing, the lights outside the house. Even those bloody Elfs have arrived that the kids love. (I have to pretend to hate them, because I have a grumpy old man thing going on at times, but if they’re all right by the kids, then they’re all right by me.) Amazingly most of my shopping is also done, but there is one gift I need to give out right here, right now!
Now, given that opening statement, you need to acknowledge my love for this time of year if you’re going to get on board with A Regulators Christmas special. Because this is what this is. And it has it’s tongue very firmly in it’s cheek throughout. And I hope that all of you who read it, enjoy yourself. Because that is all I’ve ever wanted with The Regulators. It’s a wonderfully over the top series, that I have the best time writing and this story just seemed to fall into place effortlessly when I started wondering how I could write a Christmas special.
So, for your reading and listening pleasure (yes, I did my own audio for once. Sorry about that), and completely free of course, I present to you The Regulators: Black Eye Friday. Merry Christmas. And in the meantime, don’t forget that The Regulators, Shadow of Malice and Dead Men Don’t Pay are just 99p/99c until December 6th.
